The home stretch…

I haven’t written much about the pregnancy, mostly because it’s been a rather overwhelming time, with lots of morning sickness (that lasts 24 hours a day), and fatigue.  My blood pressure has stayed regulated better than with lil Allan’s pregnancy, but I’ve had to do a LOT of resting to make that happen.  The farther I go in the pregnancy, the more rest I need to keep the numbers down.  Lately even that’s not helping much, so it’s possible I’ll get even more stict orders from the doctor at my next appointment.

And speaking of the doctor, her nurse called me yesterday to let me know that my 1-hour glucose test came back slightly elevated, so I have to go in for the 3 hour test.  This happened last time, and the 3 hour results were fine, so it’s mostly just an annoyance.  A rather large annoyance!  (Bear with me, I’m grumpy about this!)  The one hour test made me sick for the rest of the day, with a huge head-ache.  I don’t even want to think about how I’ll feel after the three hour test.  We’re going to attempt it tomorrow morning, if I feel well enough.

And speaking of being well, we’re a houseful of sickies this week.  We’re on our second or third round of colds, and even Daddy got it this time.  We sound like a TB ward, with all the hacking and coughing – it’s just not pretty!  I wasn’t able to do anything yesterday, partly from the cold, and partly because Baby Girl decided she wants to snuggle with my lungs.  Breathing was difficult at best, and there were times I wasn’t sure how the next breath was going to happen.  To top it off, I have muscle pulls in my abdomen from all the coughing and the extra pressure of carrying a baby at the same time.  So, coughing, sneezing, or any movement that requires ab muscles is NOT fun.  (Do you know how many things you do every day that require ab muscles??)

So, that’s all the “bad” whining news.  The good news is that I’ve reached 31 weeks, and we are looking at 7 more weeks or so before she arrives.  My mom will be coming in just over 3 weeks, and that will be wonderful.  Samuel can’t wait for her to arrive, since he knows his birthday is one week after she gets here.  (Plus, he loves his Mema!)  It will be a lot of help to have her here, 24/7.  The kids do really well with her, and I’ll be ready, ready for non-stop assistance!

As for Baby Girl’s health – she’s looking good!  At our last appt, she was 2 1/2 pounds, and was about 2 weeks “larger” than average.  The email I get from Baby Center suggests that the next couple of weeks are a time of growth spurts for the baby, so that should be fun!  (Especially if she continues to use my lungs as a pillow!)

So, that’s the update!  Please pray for me – health-wise, emotion-wise, strength-wise.  We need all the prayers we can get! :-)

Just in case you didn’t believe me about how badly our photo shoot with the Christmas Pajamas went (see previous post!), I did a layout to prove it.

And, I was in a digi-scrap kind of mood, so I did another one from Christmas morning:

I promise they had a good time, once we let them past that gate and into the living room where the presents were waiting.

Yes, I’m a little behind… I’m finally editing and looking through our Christmas pics!

I am hoping to get some scrappin’ done soon, but in the meantime I thought I’d share our “Christmas Pajamas” pictures with you.  Every year, the boys get new pajamas for Christmas Eve.  This year Granma Faye bought them matching green onsie/footy type pajamas with Christmas penguins on them.  They both look adorable in green, and I was so excited to get pictures of them wearing the pajamas.

So…I took close to 30 pictures, and this one I am sharing?  It’s the ONLY ONE that is even worth sharing!  The boys were NOT interested in sitting still for a photo shoot.  Here is the best of the worst of 2006 Christmas Pajama pics:

Ok, so I lied.  There was one more good picture, but unfortunately it was of lil Allan by himself.  I can only imagine how much fun it’s going to be NEXT year when we have THREE kiddos to work with!  Anyway, here is the one good shot of lil Allan:
