Um yea… it’s been awhile!

Baby Martha is now almost 8 weeks old, so it’s been a tad too long since my last update! I have posted a few updates over at the TrueLoveWays.us site, but I’m behind over there too. (Look for pictures and updates to come today hopefully!)
Part of the problem is that I’m in a transition phase with this blog and the other family blogs. I mentioned in my previous post that the boys’ blogs will cease to be updated, as I just can’t keep up with that many sites. I’ll post all kiddo updates to the family site, and this blog will be my personal and scrapbooking journal. Now the problem with that is that since Martha’s arrival I have very LITTLE personal and/or scrapbooking time in my life, so there isn’t much to write about! I am hopeful that after we get past the “newborn” stage, I’ll have a bit more time to myself to think and play and create.
A few random thoughts…
Adjusting from two kids to three is about as difficult as I thought it would be. It’s also about as wonderful as I thought it would be. The boys have done great, although I think they would like more of my attention than what they get currently. Martha is a voracious eater, and I feel like I’m constantly asking them to wait while I feed her. Samuel is a huge help in a lot of ways, and it’s been fun to watch lil Allan try to be a big helper too. They both adore Martha, and want to hold her several times a day. Samuel is sensitive to her crying, and often can be found stroking her head and softly telling her, “it’s ok, it’s ok”. I’m so happy that they all seem to love each other so naturally. It makes those days where I can’t seem to please any of them a little easier to get through. I am still learning how to cope with the demands of three little people, while trying to balance my own selfish needs and desires (and figure out where housework and business fit in too!) I’m disappointed in myself on a regular basis, but I keep trying to focus on the positive. I’m also having to dig deep and ask for advice on the disciplining of my kids. In the past, I’ve been a confident parent, but adding a third kiddo has made me very tired, which causes doubt.
In other news, we’re buying a house! We decided we didn’t have enough stress with a newborn… ha! Actually, it’s going to be fabulous in every way to be in the house, once we actually get through the MOVING part. We are scheduled to close the first week of June, and hope to be completely out of the apartment by the 22nd of June. It’s a wonderfully large four bedroom house, with a great covered patio and nice backyard. The boys will share a room, and Allan and I will share the fourth bedroom for our offices. We walked through it yesterday for a couple of hours, while the inspector checked it out. The inspection went REALLY well, and we had a chance to make plans, take measurements, and get super giddy about our HUGE house. (It’s really just an average modest size home, but it seems like a mansion compared to this little apartment which is bursting at the seams with the five of us).
I have more rattling around in my head, but I need to close for now and tend to the fussy baby. Hopefully I’ll be back for another update before 8 weeks goes by!
