    Till we meet again…

    By bella | June 11, 2007

    Yesterday the closing song of our worship service was “Till We Meet Again”.  It’s a song that chokes me up by itself, since it’s often been the song to sing when a member is moving away, and I’ve said goodbye to more than a few friends with that song.  Yesterday, I made it to the last verse before I was done

    “God be with you till we meet again;
    Keep love’s banner floating o’er you,
    Strike death’s threatening wave before you;
    God be with you till we meet again.

    Till we meet, till we meet,
    Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
    Till we meet, till we meet,
    God be with you till we meet again.”

    I hit the third line of that verse, and it was time to quit singing. I was feeling mostly in denial, until that moment, when anger took over.  I know I shouldn’t be angry, because Nattie is at Jesus’ feet today, and there isn’t anything more wonderful than that.  BUT, she left behind two little ones, and I just can’t wrap my brain around it.  I think I have to just be mad for awhile.  Mad and incredibly, incredibly sad.

    We’re moving into our new home this week.  I hope Allan can get my boxes of books out of storage soon, because I want to unpack my L.M. Montgonmery books.  I’m in major need of an Anne Shirley fix.

    More about the house soon… I need to get busy with packing and more packing.
