Photo Friday – Birthday, Standing, Bows and MORE!

Whew, this will be an image-heavy post, since a LOT has happened around here in the last week and I have pictures to prove it.
First, we had Samuel’s birthday party last Saturday. He turned six, and we did a carnival themed party, with a clown cake, carnival games, prizes, and popcorn! Fun was had by all, but I didn’t get permission to post pictures of kids’ faces, so I’ll just post a couple of photos with MY kids in them.

It was a REALLY fun party, lots of activity and running around and loud noise. (It was outside and it was mostly boys, so NOISE, NOISE, NOISE!)
It was also right smack dab in the middle of nap-time, which meant lil Allan did not nap. He did however crash early…
He fell asleep in the chair, just like that… poor little guy, all worn out!
Martha, on the other hand, DID get a nap, and she was well-rested. She was also raring to go, and decided she needed to show off on Samuel’s birthday by pulling herself up at the couch for the first time. You can tell she is PROUD of her accomplishment…
It was a weekend of more firsts… we also made the transition to a new car-seat for her. She has been getting TOO big for the infant car-seat, and with her first birthday just three weeks away, we decided to move on up to the front facing car-seat. Sigh… one more piece of baby-hood…gone. But she’s VERY HAPPY about it, so we can’t be TOO sad.
And then on Monday, we were finally able to do something that Mommy has been waiting almost an ENTIRE YEAR for…. this does NOT make me sad, but rather VERY VERY happy. (Lots of happiness around here this week, eh?)
Do you see that? It’s a BOW… in her HAIR… STAYING PUT!
See how nicely she models it for the camera, so you can all see it??
Yep, I think she likes it. And she wore it while we went shopping, and it stayed in that little tuft of hair for the entire shopping trip until I bumped it when I put her in the car at the end of the excursion. Can I get a WOO and a HOO?? My baby girl is wearing HAIR BOWS already!
(Yea, I know… it’s not THAT big of a deal… or maybe not to YOU, but it IS to ME!)

Looks like a fun party! We are getting ready to have a Hannah Montana party this coming Sat. Our oldest niece will be eight! Sigh- time flies… Thanks for stopping by, I think we both have an itch for vacation- we are planning to come to Vegas sometime in the next few months! I can’t wait it’s been two years since I’ve been. I have family that lives there, and I gotta get my roller coaster fix!
