Our son was so not ready for p.t.'ing until he was 3 1/2. Lots of people will look down their nose at you for not having your child trained according to "their" schedule, but only YOU know when your child is truly ready. I fully believe we save ourselves and our children a lot of undue stress by letting them take the lead (although there's no harm in lots of encouragement beforehand!). It sounds like he is SO ready and doing GREAT! Waiting until they're ready really is the best way to do it. A lot less stress for everyone! I'll admit we did have to push her a little in the end or else she might still be in diapers now. But what's the point of stressing the child and the adults out by a certain calendar age if they're not ready?
